Son of Famous Haitian Actor and Radio Host Die After Being Tased By Police
Pembroke Pines, FL – In a tragic turn of events over the weekend, 25-year-old Sebastian Smoye Noisy, son of the renowned Haitian radio host and actor Smoye Noisy, lost his life following an encounter with law enforcement in Pembroke Pines.
According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the 20200 block of Pembroke Road just before 1:30 p.m. on Saturday after receiving a call regarding an individual trespassing on private property. Responders located Noisy walking barefoot through an undeveloped marsh inhabited by dangerous wildlife. Witnesses noted his unusual behavior as he navigated the wetland, raising concerns about his safety and mental state.
Upon arrival, officers attempted to engage Noisy by asking for his name and whether he required assistance. However, his behavior quickly escalated. The police report details that Noisy became agitated and failed to comply with the officer’s commands. To de-escalate the situation, an officer initially deployed pepper spray, but when that method did not achieve compliance, a Taser was ultimately used.
Following the deployment of the Taser, fire rescue services were summoned. However, a fire rescue truck could not reach Noisy due to the challenging terrain and the marsh’s natural barriers. A police officer then transported him a short distance to an ambulance. Despite receiving immediate medical attention and being rushed to a nearby hospital, Noisy succumbed to his injuries three hours later.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has taken over the investigation into the incident, following standard procedure in cases involving officer-involved shootings or the use of force. Authorities have stated that further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
The tragic loss of Sebastian Smoye Noisy marks another somber moment for the Haitian community, as his father, Smoye Noisy, remains a prominent figure in Haitian media and culture. Community members call for a thorough investigation into the incident and review the events that led to such an outcome.
As questions remain regarding the circumstances surrounding Noisy’s actions and the subsequent use of force, local authorities and community leaders continue to demand transparency. The incident has sparked conversations about law enforcement protocols and the importance of mental health support during police encounters.
