RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Cristiano Ronaldo could become a minority owner of Al Nassr if investment firm RedBird Capital Partners reaches a deal to acquire a stake in the Saudi soccer club, according to reports.
RedBird founder Gerry Cardinale confirmed that he had been contacted about exploring the opportunity. He told Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport that discussions remain at an early stage and that no final decision has been made.
Cardinale said he would like to meet Ronaldo to discuss the player’s plans after retirement and whether he wants to remain involved with Al Nassr. Ronaldo, 41, joined the club in 2023. His current playing contract is expected to run through June 2027.
