PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — Haiti’s Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) has published a revised electoral calendar, setting July 18, 2027, for the first round of presidential and legislative elections and October 4, 2027, for the second round.
The council said the schedule reflects the electoral decree promulgated on October 6, which revised the June 2 decree as amended on July 2. The CEP said it consulted security officials, political groups, civil society representatives, private-sector members and the government while preparing the updated timetable.
The revised calendar is intended to keep election preparations moving while giving participants time to meet their legal obligations, the council said. It added that it plans to continue the process through dialogue and with an emphasis on professionalism, transparency and electoral integrity.
Under the schedule, political parties have until November 8, 2026, to register members, affiliates and supporters online. Online registration for presidential, Senate and lower Chamber candidates closes November 15. Those candidates must submit supporting documents by November 30, the same deadline for online registration of candidates for local government offices.
Candidates for territorial collectivities must submit their documents by December 30. The final lists of presidential and legislative candidates are scheduled for January 11, 2027, followed by the final list of local candidates on February 8.
Voter registration is set to close on May 20, 2027. The campaign period for the first round will run from April 15 through July 17.
The first round, which includes the presidential and legislative elections and a popular ratification vote, is scheduled for July 18, 2027. Final results for that round are due August 9.
Campaigning for the second round and local elections is scheduled to take place from September 3 to October 2. Voters are then expected to return to the polls on October 4 for the presidential and legislative runoffs and elections for territorial collectivities. The CEP’s calendar sets October 20 for final presidential and legislative results and October 23 for final local-election results.
The council said the updated calendar is available on its official website, www.cephaiti.ht, and on its official Facebook and X pages. It described the goal as holding elections that are inclusive and credible, while protecting every citizen’s right to participate in the country’s democratic life.
